The popular TBS talk show host Conan O’Brien will be a guest star on the next season of Fox’s Family Guy. Entertainment Weekly has first reported that O’Brien will be playing himself on the animated comedy series.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the episode featuring O’Brien will surround the story of main characters Peter and Quagmire [accidentally] starting a singing duo. They call themselves Griffin and Quagmire, who “play[s] a music festival and wind[s] up performing on Conan, which does not go as planned.”
O’Brien is no stranger to animated television shows, as he was once a writer for the Simpsons in 1992. He was once featured on the series in 1994, as reported by Digital Spy, but has not been a character on an animated show since.
Other celebrity guest stars to appear on Family Guy next season include Michelle Dockery, star of Downton Abbey, HBO talk show star Bill Maher, and famous actor Jeff Daniels, as announced by Entertainment Weekly.
Family Guy has been on air since 1999, with a three year break from 2002-2005. The upcoming twelfth season will begin in fall 2013.
