Conan O’Brien is boning up on his Spanish.

Deadline reports that O’Brien has just filmed a guest spot on the telenovela Mi adorable maldición while in Mexico City filming his special Conan Without Borders: Made in Mexico. O’Brien plays dairy businessman Joseph Robinson, and he has scenes with series leads Renata Notni and Pablo Lyle.

“It was a dream come true,” O’Brien said in an interview with Mexican morning show Hoy. “I love telenovelas. In the U.S. I watch the ones in Spanish. I love them. I wanted to be in one, and they let me turn into this mysterious man that sells cheese.”

“I think he did a great job,” said producer Ignacio Sada. “Super Fun. He impressed many people.” Sada also noted that O’Brien improvised for a few scenes.

The special that O’Brien was in Mexico City shooting, Conan Without Borders, is set to premiere Wednesday, March 1 at 10 pm on TBS. The production will consist of an all-Mexican crew and studio audience, as well as feature Diego Luna and former Mexico President Vicente Fox.
