Abed Nadir is not going to find this news “cool cool cool”: Vulture reports that Donald Glover will not be returning full-time for season five of Community.
The actor, who has played Troy Barnes on the NBC comedy throughout its run, has expressed interest in focusing on his music career with his band, Childish Gambino. As a result, Glover will only appear in five of the season’s thirteen episodes.
Chevy Chase, who portrayed Pierce Hawthorne on Community, also had a reduced role in the show’s fourth season. It was previously reported that he would not be returning for the fifth season in any capacity.
Community was renewed earlier this year and its creator, Dan Harmon, reinstated as show-runner. The show’s fifth season is expected to debut in early 2014.
