Comic-Con ’23: Prime Video Announces ‘Invincible’ Season Two Premiere Date With New Teaser Trailer; Releases Special Episode

Months after a teaser for its second season, Prime Video’s Invincible released a new trailer at Comic-Con. The animated adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s (The Walking Dead) graphic novel arrives on the platform on November 3. View the teaser below.

Premiering in March 2021, the series follows seventeen-year-old Mark Grayson, the son of the world’s mightiest hero, Omni-Man. Wishing for nothing but to be like his father, Mark finally wakes up one day embued with superpowers, becoming the new hero Invincible. But his dreams of saving the world are tragically plundered when he discovers his alien father’s true motive for coming to Earth. Soon he’s in a race to not only save the Earth but the entire universe as he knows it.

The star-studded series boasts Steven Yeun (Beef), J.K. Simmons (The Closer), Sandra Oh (Killing Eve), Mark Hamill (Batman: The Animated Series), Seth Rogen (Platonic), Gillian Jacobs (The Contractor), Zazie Beetz (Full Circle), and Walter Goggins (I’m A Virgo). The new season only adds to the star power with the likes of Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us), Rob Delaney (Black Mirror), Jay Pharaoh (The Blackening), Lea Thompson (Caroline in the City), Daveed Diggs (The Little Mermaid), Chloe Bennet (Dave), and Calista Flockhart (Supergirl), just to name a few. The series is produced by Skybound with Kirkman, Rogen, Simon Racioppa (The Shadow of Bill, Spliced), David Alpert (Air, Powers), and Catherine Winder (Ice Age, The Angry Birds Movie) as executive producers. Jeff Allen (Avengers Assemble) serves as supervising director with Linda Lamontagne (Ultra City Smiths) as casting director. The comic ran for 15 years, concluding its story in February 2018.

In 2017, there were talks of a live-action film from Universal with Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Preacher) attached. Season one of Invincible is available to stream on Prime Video.

Along with the announcement of the second season’s premiere date, Prime Video released a special episode entitled “Invincible Atom Eve” depicting the origin story of heroine Atom Eve. View the trailer below.
