CNN’s ‘Crossfire’ to Air Early for Syria Coverage

CNN has announced Crossfire will return to broadcast early in order to address the recent statements President Obama has made about Syria, declared The Hollywood Reporter.

There is anticipation of a Congressional debate on whether or not force will be used in the situation, according to Sam Feist, CNN’s Washington bureau chief. Feist told The Hollywood Reporter the political debate show has “been doing rehearsals, the set is ready, the hosts are ready…”

Hosting the debate show will be Newt Gingrich, Stephanie Cutter, S.E. Cupp and Van Jones. The updated version of the show will consist of a “half-hour panel discussion program that includes multiple guests along with its right and left leaning hosts.”

Host Gingrich told Wolf Blitzer Crossfire will be “the place to be if you want to hear people really talk about the facts and the issues, not just about talking points and yelling at each other.” Feist told The Hollywood Reporter, “in any debate we lay out both sides for the viewers and give them an opportunity to decide for themselves who’s right.”

Crossfire will return to air September 9 at 6:30 p.m, one week earlier than originally planned.
