Cinemax Renews ‘Strike Back’ for Season 6

Before the season five finale of Strike Back, Cinemax has decided to commit to the series for sixth season. The British-American action series focuses on Section 20 which is a multinational covert special ops team. Around the globe they fight a web of interconnected criminal and terrorist activities. The season five finale of the show will air on April 6th.

Kary Antholis, president, HBO Miniseries and Cinemax Programming said, ““The rebirth of Strike Back has reestablished Cinemax as a destination for adrenalized, entertaining action series. We are delighted to offer Section 20 the opportunity to continue saving the world from mayhem and destruction.”

The sixth season of Strike Back is technically be the seventh season in the series. There was a six episode season which was produced and aired on Sky One. It was not until season two where Cinemax got involved as a co-producer. There has been changes to the show in the past. For the season, Retribution, there was a cast change. Both Philip Winchester and Sullivan Stapeton were replaced. Currently the cast includes: Warren Brown, Daniel MacPherson, Roxanne Mckee, Alin Sumarwata, and Nina Sosanya. Each of which are expected to return for the new season.

Executive producers for the show are: Andy Harries, Sharon Hughff, Jack Lothian and MJ Bassett. Also, Bill Shepherd is series producer and Nuala O’Leary is producer.

The fifth season finale will air on Cinemax on April 6.
