Chrissy Teigen Will Star in Short-form Judge Judy-style Series ‘Chrissy’s Court’ for Quibi

Chrissy Teigen will play in the short-form series Chrissy’s Court for the upcoming streaming service Quibi, according to Entertainment Weekly. Like in the Judge Judy show, Teigen will rule over small claims and her verdicts will be legally binding. She will also serve as a judge on NBC’s comedy competition show Bring the Funny, which is set to premiere on July 9. Furthermore, her mother, Vilailuck Teigen or “Pepper Thai” will serve as the court’s “bailiff.”

“When Cellino & Barnes broke up, I was devastated. I knew I had to take matters into my own hands,” Teigen said, talking about the Buffalo-based personal injury law firm known for its iconic jingles, whose partners split bitterly back in 2017. “Here’s one jury duty you won’t want to miss,” Teigen added. The series will most-likely feature several “quips” like Teigen’s posts on Twitter.

Chrissy’s Court is produced by 3 Arts Entertainment and Suit & Thai Productions. Luke Dillon and Teigen will executive produce.

The other series ordered by Quibi include projects from Catherine Hardwicke, Jason Blum, Sam Raimi, Stephen Curry, Antoine Fuqua, and Guillermo del Toro. The streaming service is also scheduled to include lifestyle programming and daily news.

Quibi is tailored to smartphone viewing and its shows run for 10 minutes. The mobile-video subscription service was founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg and is led by CEO Meg Whitman. According to Variety, Quibi is set to launch a mobile subscription VOD service with an estimated cost of $5-$8 per month, in April 2020.
