Chris Messina Rumored To Be Packing His Bags For ‘The White Lotus’

A new guest may be checking into The White Lotus. According to Deadline, Chris Messina (Argo, Away We Go) and HBO are closing in on a deal that will send him to France for the fourth season. The deal is yet to become official, but Messina is said to have the offer in hand. HBO did not comment on the casting’s validity.

Deadline has reported that If Messina does end up packing his bags, he will join fellow vacationers Alexander Ludwig (The Hunger Games, Vikings) and AJ Michalka (Super 8, The Lovely Bones). Helen Bonham Carter (Fight Club, The Kings Speech)  is also rumored to be in talks to join the fourth season of the dark comedy series.

According to Deadline As in previous seasons, plot details have not been released. Although unconfirmed, sources have pinned Saint-Tropez as the main shooting location. In September, it was announced that the season would take place in France. As one of the most glamorous holiday destinations in the country, Saint-Tropez is a near-perfect location for a cast of luxury vacationers. Production could begin as early as this spring.

Deadline has reported that HBO Chairman and CEO Casey Bloys confirmed in November that casting for the series had begun. Messina’s character is currently unknown; sources have indicated his role will star opposite Bonham Carter. The part was apparently highly sought after by actors around Hollywood.

The White Lotus is one of the most attractive series for actors, consistently bringing together up-and-comers and established stars. Last season’s cast included Carrie Coon (The Leftovers, Gone Girl), Sam Rockwell (Seven Psychopaths, Vice), Natasha Rothwell (Insecure, A Year And Change), Jason Isaacs (The Patriot, Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets), Michelle Monaghan (True Detective, Pixels), Walton Goggins (Fallout, Justified), Parker Posey (Superman Returns, Dazed And Confused), Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education, Living), Sam Nivola (White Noise Maestro), and Patrick Schwarzenegger (Gen V, Midnight Sun), via Deadline.

According to Deadline, Messina is known for his roles in the sports film AIR and the drama series The Newsroom. Messina’s upcoming work includes the World War II film Pressure for Working Title and Studio Canal. Starring alongside Messina in Pressure are Andrew Scott (Flea Bag, Wake Up Dead Men: A Knives Out Mystery) and Brendon Fraser (The Whale, The Mummy).
