Charlie Cox Praises Team For Creatively Reworking ‘Daredevil: Born Again’

Seven years after the original series aired on Netflix, Disney+ is finally prepared to launch Marvel’s Daredevil revival next month. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series star, Charlie Cox (Stardust, Treason), praised the team’s handle of a major creative overhaul midway through production.

“One of the most amazing things about working for this company was their ability to look at what we were making, listen to the things Vince and I had to say about it and pivot; decide you know what, this isn’t quite the right direction and we know how we can change it and make it better,” Cox detailed at this week’s New York premiere via THR. See the interview below.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, production endured a brief pause in development due to the writers’ and actors’ strike. During that pause, the team found that the show was not living up to their expectations which caused a change in tone on the production. Disney brought in a new showrunner, Dario Scardapane, and appointed two new directors to lead the series. Under a new direction, the series — originally meant to reset the character — embraced continuing the Netflix story.

“I don’t know many companies that would do that — that takes a lot of personnel, it takes a lot of money, so it’s so cool to be standing here today and feeling thrilled with the product, that we ended up in the place we wanted to be,” Cox continued via The Hollywood Reporter

Daredevil originated on Netflix following Cox’s character, Matt Murdock. After three popular seasons, the show ended leaving fans never to stop raving about the show. When rumors of the reboot began speculating, viewers pushed for the return of their original Daredevil. The new series will continue to follow Murdock’s journey as lawyer by day and vigilante by night. This time Murdock’s worst enemy, Wilson Fisk played by Vincent D’Onofrio (The Magnificent Seven), will return to his city in the shape of a popular political figure. Murdock must take down Fisk before it’s too late.

Along with Cox, Jon Bernthal (Punisher) will be returning to the cast as well. Bernthal will come back as Frank Castle, better known as Punisher. Joining the reprisal of the roles, Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood) will return as Karen Page, following Elden Henson (The Mighty Ducks) as Foggy Nelson.

With a premiere date of March 4th, 2025 fans rave about the updates and prepare for the new series.
