Castle Rock Entertainment Set To Be Relaunched By Rob & Michele Reiner With An Overall Deal At Warner Bros TV

Rob (All In The Family) and Michele Reiner (Shock & Awe) have signed an overall deal with Warner Bros TV, according to Deadline. The duo will be reviving the Castle Rock Entertainment banner under their newly formed production company.

Reiner has won two Emmy’s for his role as Michael Stivic in All in the Family and has recently played Ace Amberg in Ryan Murphy’s Hollywood. Reiner has also had roles in Sleepless in Seattle, The First Wives Club, Wolf of Wall Street, New Girl, and Morton & Hayes. He is also a three-time DGA Award nominee and his film A Few Good Men was nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture. Some other popular films that he’s directed include include Misery, The Princess Bride, Stand By Me, and This Is Spinal Tap. Additionally, Reiner produced and directed The American President, Ghosts of Mississippi, and The Bucket List.

Castle Rock Entertainment was co-founded by Reiner in 1987 and produced more than 125 films. Some of those films included When Harry Met Sally…, A Few Good Men, In the Line of Fire, Miss Congeniality, and The Shawshank Redemption.

When Turner Broadcasting became part of Warner Bros after the Time Warner merger, Castle Rock Entertainment was acquired and kept producing movies for Warner Bros. The company was eventually disbanded by Reiner kept using the Castle Rock moniker for independent films.

In May, Reiner made his first overall TV deal in his career with Warner Bros TV.

The Reiners have worked with the the Director of Development at Castle Rock Entertainment, Michelle Goldfine, to develop about a dozen projects to take out to networks in hopes that they’ll buy. The slate of shows include half-hour comedies, hour dramas, political shows, and more.

Warner Bros owns much of the Castle Rock library and the Reiners will be able to pull from it for their TV development.

Reiner announced on Twitter that the This Is Spinal Tap cast will be reuniting to benefit the Democratic Party of Pennsylvania.
