Cast Of ‘Uncoupled’ Reacted To Cancellation

According to Deadline, actors on the show Uncoupled have broken their silence on the cancellation and are disappointed that there will not be a season two. The series was originally a Netflix show but was canceled after a single season. Afterward, Showtime picked up the show, but also recently canceled the production.

The comedy series was created by Darren Star and Jeffery Richman, said Deadline. It was led on-screen by Neil Patrick Harris. The series first premiered in July of 2022, streaming all eight episodes of the first season at once. After being canceled by Netflix, Showtime picked the show up. Showtime had originally just postponed production due to the writers strike, before canceling it all together earlier this year.

Deadline revealed that Dan Amboyer, who played the main love interest to Harris, said, “Sad that there won’t be a season 2 of Uncoupled after all. Thankful for my experience, would have loved to see this story go on. Had my eyes set on it as soon as I heard about it, originally. One of my favorite projects (to be a small part of)—and a meaningful moment for me to finally play a gay role on screen. Magic people, master creators. Can’t wait to see what they cook up next.”

One fellow actor responded to Amboyer, Deadline revealed. Nic Rouleau, who played Tyler Hawkins, replied on Amboyer’s post, “We will always have Season 1 – so special!!”

Jai Rodriguez, who played Johnathon #2, said “Welp, guess I’m not going to NYC in May to shoot,” on his Instagram story, Deadline said.

IMDB shared the synopsis, which reads as “Michael’s life seemed perfect until his long-time partner blindsided him after 17 years. He must confront the nightmares of losing his soulmate and suddenly finding himself as a single gay man in his mid-40s.”
