Cast For Thriller Series ‘Leopard Skin’ Announced, Carla Gugina As New Addition

Carla Gugina (The Haunting of Hill House) is slated to star in a TV thriller for AGC Television entitled Leopard Skin, according to Deadline. No network is attached to the series just yet.

The series, with production taking place in the Dominican Republic, hails from Sebastian Gutierrez (Snakes on a Plane, Jett) and stars Amelia Eve (The Haunting of Bly Manor), Gentry White (Palm Springs), Margot Bingham (The Walking Dead), Philip Winchester (Law & Order: SVU), Gaite Jansen (Jett), Nora Arnezeder (Safe House), and Ana de la Reguera (Narcos), alongside Gugina. Leopard Skin will follow a criminal gang who escape a jewelry heist gone wrong and are forced to hide in a beachside estate where two women live isolated from society. Betrayal, secrets, and desire arise while the group hides out.

In a statement, Gutierrez explained his inspiration for the upcoming series: “These are strange times we are all going through and after spending months locked in watching all the streamer fare I’d been missing, I feel audiences are ready for long-form storytelling to become bolder, more proactive and with more international appeal. I came up with Leopard Skin in that spirit and Stuart Ford, an early believer in Jett, was quick on the draw to jump into action to get the cameras rolling,” via Deadline.

Gugina’s previous credits include the 2015 thriller film starring Dwayne Johnson (Jumanji) entitled San Andreas, the 2018 horror series The Haunting of Hill House, and the 2001 film Spy Kids. She also starred in the Cinemax crime series entitled Jett and was featured in the HBO sitcom Entourage.

Regarding the upcoming thriller’s production, AGC Television President Lourdes Diaz explained that “Sebastian came to us with an amazing scfipt, a clear vision of how to execute an eight-episode series in the DR, and together we’ve assembled a terrific cast. We loved this project so much we decided to pull the trigger and fully finance Leopard Skin,” via Deadline
