Fans of the hit show Yellowstone saddle up as more information for its sequel series, The Madison, has been released. According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Patrick J. Adams (Suits, Plan B) has been added to the project.
According to mxdwn, the spinoff originally was under the name 2024, present-day setting intended to continue events after Yellowstone, with the potential to feature cameos from the original show. However, after the series name change, mxdwn revealed the series will be a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection centered on a New York City family relocating to the Madison River Valley in central Montana.”
The Madison was created by Taylor Sheridan (Sicario, Hell or High Water), who also created the original Yellowstone series via mxdwn.
Starring in The Madison, Adams has been cast as a young investment banker named Russell McIntosh, a man following the life path set out for him all his life via The Hollywood Reporter. Joining Adams is actress Elle Chapman (A Man Called Otto, Florida Wild) in the role of Paige McIntosh, “a somewhat self-centered woman who indulges in a luxurious New York lifestyle provided by her parents and investment banker husband.” Beau Garrett (Tron: Legacy, The Good Doctor) has also been cast in the ensemble, taking on the role of Abigail Reese. Abigail’s character description reveals she is a “resilient and sardonic New Yorker, who is a recently divorced mother of two.”
According to mxdwn, Michelle Pfeiffer (Hairspray, The Fabulous Baker Boys) will be starring in the lead role of the series, cast for her “emotional depth, authenticity, and grace” via a statement from Paramount Global Co-CEO and President/CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios, Chris McCarthy (Out of Iraq, The T Word).
The spinoff announcement comes soon after the announcement that Yellowstone is soon approaching. To continue the legacy of the show, Paramount Network plans on more spinoffs, with a prequel series named 1944 in the works as well, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
At this time, a premiere date for The Madison has not been announced.
