Casey Wilson and Rita Moreno to Guest Star on “Grey’s Anatomy”

Grey’s Anatomy has recently cast two high-profile actresses to guest star in an upcoming episode. Casey Wilson and Rita Moreno will appear in an episode that is slated to air on March 17.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, not much has been released about who Moreno or Wilson will be playing. However, Moreno will be playing a character named Gayle and Wilson will play Courtney Hall.

Details of Shonda Rhimes’ shows not being released of typical as a way to control rumors of what’s happening on the shows.

The episode is called “Odd Man Out.” The tagline that was released for the episode says “Richard throws everyone for a loop when he switches the resident and attending pairings and Arizona takes a huge risk on a woman who is pregnant with quadruplets. Meanwhile, April is faced with a difficult decision, on Grey’s Anatomy.”

It was recently announced that Wilson will star in a new ABC comedy, entitled Hail Mary!

Some of her past credits include a series regular role on the ABC comedy, Happy Endings, where she played Penny Hartz. The show, despite a dedicated fanbase, was canceled by ABC in 2013. The show is currently streaming on Hulu.

Wilson and her writing partner, June Diane Raphael, have a development deal with ABC Studios.
She’s also known for her weekly podcast, her role as a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 2008 to 2009, and her Hulu parody of Bravo’s Real Housewives franchise. She also starred in Marry Me, a comedy that lasted one season on NBC that aired in the 2014-2015 season.

In terms of movies, she’s appeared in a supporting role in 2014’s Gone Girl. She also was in Bride Wars, Bachelorette Party and Bachelorette. Wilson also wrote the latter two movies.

Moreno was last seen on The CW’s Jane The Virgin, where she played Liliana De La Vega, Rogelio’s mother and Jane’s grandmother. Moreno is one of the few entertainers to have an EGOT, which is an Emmy (work in television), a Grammy (work in music), an Oscar (work in film) and a Tony (work in Broadway). She portrayed Anita in the 1961 film adaptation of West Side Story, in which she won an Oscar for her role. She was also a regular on TVLand’s Happily Divorced.

Moreno is set to appear in the Netflix reboot of One Day At A Time, which was originally a show done by influential show creator Norman Lear. She will play the grandmother of the Cuban-American family that the show centers on.
