Cameron Monaghan’s Jeremiah Valeska Has Plans For Bruce in FOX’s Final Season of ‘Gotham’

In Gotham, there has been no name of the Joker brought up. The reason for that is a complex one. Warner Bros. is most likely keeping Joker’s appearance to a minimum with him only taking part in the DC Extended Universe movies. Whatever the reason may be, Cameron Monaghan’s Jeremiah Valeska has taken the Joker as his TV character’s inspiration.

As many fans might have known, Joker was created at ACE Chemicals factory. One of the episodes in the final season of Gotham has been titled “ACE Chemicals.” Although we already had an idea that Monaghan was playing a new version of the Joker, this only pushed us more towards the possibility. With Monaghan and producer John Stephens denying it, this is still considered an assumption, not confirmation.

In season four, Jeremiah had done and succeeded in almost everything that he had set out to do. Only one more thing was missing for him. “I think that what’s driving him right now and what his plan and what he’s building is, he’s always working or building something, is Bruce,” said Monaghan. “Bruce is his special project. It’s the one thing that’s bothering him and nagging him because it’s the one thing he didn’t succeed at. That’s what we see with him now is he’s happyish but he’s still unsatisfied because he needs to show Bruce how much he loves him, or his twisted version of love.”

The Joker-Batman relationship has always been somewhat of a special and intriguing one. The two have faced off against each other numerous times. Even though we are not entirely sure that Monaghan is playing the Joker, it certainly feels like it.

Season five of Gotham will be its last with no shortage of action-packed episodes. Gotham returns on January 3 on FOX at 8 PM ET.
