‘Bridgerton’ Season Two Becomes Netflix’s Most-Watched Debut for an English-Language Series

Bridgerton beaks yet another record for Netflix. According to Deadline, the series has surpassed its first season for being the most-watched English-language debut ever on the streamer.

Season two pulled off massive numbers for Netflix, with a total of 627.11 million hours streamed on the platform, surpassing the 625.49 million hours viewed for season one in the same span. Netflix measures its Top 10 most popular series of all time by the hours viewed in their first 28 days of streaming. Bridgerton‘s second season continues to rise to the top since its March 25 premiere.

Squid Game remains at the top spot with 1.65 billion hours viewed in its first 28 days.

Bridgerton season two continues to break records after its first full week of release, being the most-viewed English-language title in a week. Season two has topped other debuts last week (April 11-17) such as Anatomy of a Scandal and Our Great National Park.

Set in a reimagined Regency era, Bridgerton follows Daphne Bridgerton, the daughter of an elite family, as she makes her debut in London’s marriage market. The series was created by TV juggernaut Shonda Rhimes (ScandalGrey’s Anatomy).

Bridgerton is available to stream on Netflix, and it will return for a third season.
