“Borgias” E-Book to Serve as Series Finale

Though The Borgias was canceled earlier this year, Showtime is offering fans of the series another chance for closure.

When Showtime announced that The Borgias’ third season would be its last, the network briefly considered making a two-hour movie to conclude the characters’ story lines. Plans for the finale unfortunately fell through, however, with the network citing cost as the main reason.

In a surprising turn of events—and perhaps as a result of a passionate fan campaign to bring the show back—Showtime announced Monday that the original script for the film, titled “The Borgia Apocalypse”, would be released to the public as an e-book.

Teaming once again with creator Neil Jordan, “The Borgia Apocalypse will be available this week via major e-retailers,” Showtime stated via Twitter. “We’re thrilled that the series’ loyal fans will have the opportunity to read Neil’s final farewell to one of history’s most infamous families.”

Though it may not be the same as watching the events of the finale unfold on screen, the e-book will nonetheless allow fans an opportunity for closure in regards to the beloved series.
