Between attacks from the Markovians and A.S.A. occupation, Black Lightning has plenty standing in the way of the completion of its fourth and final season. However, now, a hiatus has caused the show to take a break until mid-April, via Comic Book.
Until April 12, the show will be on a hiatus with no new episodes airing on March 22, March 29, or April 5, according to Comic Book. The hiatus is largely being imposed on Black Lightning in order to allow Bulletproof, a three-episode event, to take over differing time slots on the network.
March 15 marked the first day of the event with Bulletproof‘s first episode airing during All American‘s time slot. On March 29th of the following week, the same show replacement will take place. Via Comic Book, Bulletproof’s final episode will air with All American Stories 2, an hour-long special, will premiere during Black Lightning‘s typical 9 P.M. EST slot.
Black Lightning is not the only CW show to be on a hiatus in the upcoming weeks. According to Comic Book, Superman & Lois had faced COVID-19 related production shutdown earlier in the production schedule, requiring a broadcasting hiatus between March 23 and May 18. In its place, the sixth and final season of Supergirl with premiere on March 30 in Superman & Lois‘s Tuesday time slot. Additionally, Riverdale will be on a break from March 31 to July 7 after airing its final completed episode for season five. Via Comic Book, Kung Fu, a brand new series for the network, will take over Riverdale‘s time slot.
When the series returns on April 12, Black Lightning will continue to air on The CW on Mondays at 9/8c.
