Bitsie Tulloch Got Chills From ‘Superman & Lois’ Pilot

Bitsie Tulloch has read the pilot script for The CW’s upcoming Superman & Lois show, Comicbook.com has reported, and even with the first episode being nothing but words and ideas, it already has the Lois Lane actress smitten. In conversation with TV guide, speaking on the red carpet celebrating Supergirl being on air for 100 episodes, Tulloch had nothing but praise when discussing her show’s pilot episode, revealing her first impression. “When Todd Helbing, who’s our showrunner, was telling me about the story for the pilot script for Superman & Lois, I got chills,” Tulloch said. “It’s so good, and it’s so something we haven’t seen before with them, so I think it’s going to be great.”

Superman & Lois was announced last fall as a potential latest addition to the CW’s Arrowverse family, a spinoff of Supergirl which has already lasted five seasons. The show will star Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsue Tulloch, who both play The Man Of Steel and his wife, reprising their roles as the titular characters. Hoechlin has already expressed excitement being given the opportunity to take his Superman character to the next level with a show favoring him. “I could not be more grateful for the opportunity to tell this story, that for now shall remain a secret.” Hoechlin said. “But I’ve been blessed with nothing less than the most wonderful people to do it alongside of.”

Since its announcement, details regarding Superman & Lois have been scarce and elusive, with only breadcrumbs of information spilling out into the internet every now and then. There was a casting call for the show back in November for a pair of Teenage boys, and there are murmurs that Superman & Lois may begin shooting March of this year, though the latter has not been substantiated. Superman & Lois is part of the Arrowverse’s new phase which may have been kicked off with its Crisis Of Infinite Earths storyline, an overarching event that has permeated all Arrowverse shows and will reach its conclusion on January 14th, 2020. Superman & Lois will be accompanied by the Batwoman, Stargirl and Arrow And The Canaries TV shows as the latest recruits in this new era of Arrowverse content.
