BBC ‘s official Twitter account dropped a one-minute sneak peek to Doctor Who’s Christmas special, “Twice Upon A Time.” This will be Peter Capaldi’s final outing as the Twelfth Doctor for the show. With this teaser release it further entices and hypes Doctor Who fans looking for a fantastic sendoff for Capaldi before the next doctor Jodie Whittaker (who we are also excited for) takes over the role.
The wait is nearly over fellow Doctor Who fans. With there being exactly a week left before the Christmas special. BBC is making us wish Christmas comes much quicker with this sneak peek release. This clip does have a festive feel to it, as well, with the snow and the beautiful snowflakes. BBC even added a snowflake animation to their logo.
With the TARDIS being taken away by a giant spaceship the Twelfth Doctor, First Doctor, The Captain, and Bill Potts are immediately seen jumping off the TARDIS. When the Twelfth Doctor’s TARDIS is taken they seem to go into the First Doctor’s TARDIS. Bill herself is confused about what is happening. The audience enters another TARDIS and the design is very different from the Twelfth Doctor’s, “another of the same TARDIS” as he so eloquently puts it. The Twelfth Doctor does seem genuinely scared of those that took his version of the TARDIS. It is evident that the doctor does not want to be found.
The clip ends on a cliff hanger with the Twelfth Doctor saying, “deep space, anywhere.” Leaving the audience with all these questions and so much excitement.
I am sure that the show will be both emotional and funny to watch, to help cap off and transition to the doctor Jodie Whittaker. Be sure not to miss Capaldi’s last episode on Christmas Day!
