‘Batwoman’ Star Ruby Rose Posts Graphic Video of Surgery Following a Stunt Injury – NSFW

This past Thursday night, actress Ruby Rose posted on Instagram revealing that she recently underwent surgery following injuries she sustained while doing stunts for Batwoman. Rose detailed the seriousness of the injury, mentioning that it could have led to her being paralyzed if left untreated. The Instagram post also included a detailed video of Rose’s surgery, and can be seen below.

“I had herniated two discs doing stunts, and they were close to severing my spinal chord [sic]. I was in chronic pain and yet couldn’t feel my arms,” Rose stated in the post. “I was told I needed an emergency surgery or I was risking becoming paralyzed.”

Rose also jokingly explained why she wanted to take a video of her surgery, stating, “Did you not watch that Grey’s Anatomy episode where they left a towel in a patient?? Also, I wanted to see what happens when we go under.” Additionally, Rose thanked her doctor for leading the surgery, saying, “Thank you Dr. Bray for everything you did and for allowing me to keep working and doing what I love. I am forever in your debt.”

This isn’t the first serious surgery that Ruby Rose has had during her career, however. In an article last year, People detailed how Rose began using wheelchair for a short period of time after having a back procedure to resolve spinal issues the actress had been having for near a decade. At the time, Rose expressed a similar positive and open attitude, stating “I’d rather put it out there that I’m fine and going to be fine.” Rose also spoke out against those who might body-shame her online, and encouraged her fans to “please take care of your body and your mind and your soul and stop judging others.”

Rose appears to have recovered from her most recent surgery. The actress will appear as the lead in the upcoming Batwoman series from the CW, which premieres Sunday, October 6 at 8/7c.
