Basil Iwanyk has sold three new television drama series to NBC, TNT and The CW.
According to Deadline, Iwanyk has a resume that includes The Clash Of The Titans, The Expendables, and The Town. Josh Parkinson (Eastbound & Down), James D. Parriott (Covert Affairs), and Eoghan O’Donnell (Teen Wolf) wrote the projects Iwanyk sold to NBC, TNT and The CW. The NBC project comes from Sony TV. He executive produces the three projects with Kent Kubena (Thunder Road’s SVP Film & TV).
“We could not be more excited about the caliber of writers and material we’ve set up this season, as well as our upcoming development projects in the pipeline,” Iwanyk said.
By The Horns is a crime family drama for NBC. The series will be written and executive produced by Parkinson. It focuses on a member of a south Texas crime organization who wants to take over the organization when he discovers the new boss’s 14-year-old son is actually his.
Six a catastrophe drama for TNT is written and executive produced by Parriott. It follows the disastrous effects of category 6 tornado that wipes a majority of a small Kansas town and brings to light some years of horrific secrets.
The Messengers is a sci-fi drama for The CW where a group of strangers dies from the energy pulse of a mysterious object crashing to earth. They come back as angels of the coming Apocalypse. O’Donnel will write and executive produce along with CBS TV Studios. Ted Humphrey (The Good Wife EP) will supervise the script and executive produce with Ava Jamshidi (Industry Entertainment).
