According to Deadline, Netflix’s hit romantic comedy Nobody Wants This is expanding its cast for season two with couple of major additions. Arian Moayed (Succession, You Hurt My Feelings) and Alex Karpovsky (Girls, Angelyne) will be joining the series in recurring roles.
Moayed will play Dr. Andy, a confident and well-regarded psychotherapist who may be the perfect match for Justine Lupe’s (Succession, The Big Door Prize) character Morgan. Meanwhile, Karpovsky has been cast as Big Noah, an arrogant rabbi at the temple that Adam Brody’s (American Fiction, The O.C.) character Noah attends.
The actors join previously announced guest stars including Miles Fowler (Bottoms, Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead), who will appear in two episodes as Noah’s basketball teammate, and Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl, The Weekend Away), who is set to star as Kristen Bell’s (The Good Place, Frozen) character Joanne’s former middle school rival.
As Deadline reports, Nobody Wants This follows the unlikely romance between an agnostic podcast host Joanne and peculiar rabbi Noah as they navigate modern dating, social pressures and opposing worldviews. The show, created by Erin Foster (Barely Famous, The New Normal), premiered in September 2024 and quickly became one of Netflix’s most successful comedy series, earning a swift renewal for a second season.
Erin Foster executive produces alongside her sister Sara Foster (Barely Famous, D.E.B.S.). Jenni Konner (Girls, Camping) and Bruce Eric Kaplan (Girls, Mr. Corman) will serve as new showrunners while Steven Levitan (Modern Family, Reboot), Nora Silver (Single Drunk Female, Welcome to Chippendales) and Oly Obst (Will Trent, The Lovebirds) will also produce, among others. The series is a 20th Television production.
Moayed, known for his Emmy-nominated performance as Stewy in Succession, has an extensive career spanning television, film and theater. He previously appeared in Netflix’s Inventing Anna and had roles in several Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, including Spider-Man: No Way Home and Ms. Marvel. Karpovsky is best known for playing Ray Ploshansky on Girls as well as characters in Homecoming on Amazon Prime Video and Angelyne on Peacock.
