Apple TV+ Release Teaser Trailer for New Series ‘Foundation’

The upcoming Apple TV+ series Foundation has released the first teaser trailer for the show, according to Deadline. Based on novels from Isaac Asimov (Foundation and Earth) under the same name, the series is to be developed by the aforementioned streaming platform and Skydance in addition to being executive produced by its showrunner David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight, Batman Begins). The show is additionally executive produced by the likes of Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds, Snowpiercer), Cameron Welsh (The Last Ship), David Ellison (World War Z), Marcy Ross (Grace and Frankie), Dana Goldberg (Annihilation), and Robyn Asimov. Foundation experienced a halt in its production due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic and there is yet to be an announced release date to be attached to the project. 

The novel adaptation series Foundation follows the titular group composed of exiles who group together in efforts to defy the existing Galactic Empire in a twisted method of attempting to save the authority power from itself. The confirmed cast includes the likes of Jared Harris (Chernobyl, The Crown) as Hari Seldon, Lou Llobell (Voyagers) as Gaal, Lee Pace (Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel) as Brother Day, Laura Birn (Void, The Birdcatcher) as Demerzel, Cassian Bilton (Shoal, The Devil’s Harmony) as Brother Dawn, and Terrence Mann (Sense8, Critters) as Brother Dusk. The upcoming drama series is set to consist of ten episodes for its first season run. 

Currently, Apple TV+ offers many original programs such as Defending Jacob, The Morning Show, and the animation series Central Park. The streaming platform offers 7-day free trial and subscriptions starting at $4.99 per month. Although there is no exact premiere date for Foundation’s first season, it is projected to debut sometime in 2021.
