Voting has begun for the first ever category for favorite Concert Comic for the American Comedy Awards airing on May 8 from 9-11 p.m. ET/PT.
NBC and Don Mischer Productions tweeted that voting was now open. The award is for stand0up comedians who performed their 2013 shows in venues with 500 seats or more.
Voting can be done by tweeting with the hashtag #AmericanComedyAwards and the name or Twitter handle of their choice. In order for the votes to count, the hashtag and keyword must be separated by a space. Voting will continue until April 1 at 4 p.m. ET/1p.m. PT. Voters will are only allowed one vote per comic, per valid Twitter public account.
The American Comedy Awards combines both fan voting and voting among entertainment industry professionals. The American Comedy Awards Voting Committee consists of 860 working comedy professionals in writing, performing, producing, directing and stand-up.
