AMC Releases Trailer For ‘The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live’

Created by Scott M. Gimple (The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Fillmore!) and Danai Gurira (Black Panther, All Eyez on Me), The Walking Dead spinoff titled The Ones Who Live is set to debut on February 25th, 2024. The series will consist of six total episodes. According to Comicbook.com, AMC has released a trailer for the series in anticipation of its premiere.

In the trailer, returning characters from The Walking Dead universe Michonne, played by Gurira, and Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln (The Walking Dead, Penguin Bloom), are seen navigating an increasingly dangerous apocalyptic world. The trailer can be viewed below.

The spinoff series is set years after the finale of The Walking Dead, which showed Rick Grimes being taken up into a helicopter owned by the Civic Republic Military.

The synopsis of the series, according to the official press release, reads: “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live presents an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. By the ghosts of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead… And ultimately, a war against the living. Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they’ve ever known before? Are they enemies? Lovers? Victims? Victors? Without each other, are they even alive — or will they find that they, too, are the Walking Dead?”

In addition to Gurira and Lincoln, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will also star Pollyanna McIntosh (The Walking Dead: World Beyond, The Woman) as Jadis, Terry O’Quinn (The Stepfather, Lost) as Beale, Matt Jeffers (New Amsterdam, Unidentified Objects) as Nat, Lesley-Ann Brandt (Lucifer, Captain Fall) as Pearl, and more.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is one of six spinoff series created within The Walking Dead franchise. Other spinoffs include The Walking Dead: Dead City and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. During the 2023 Comic Con, it was announced that both of these spinoff series were renewed.

Fans of The Walking Dead can look forward to diving into Rick and Michonne’s lives again in The Ones Who Live.
