Much like zombies, The Walking Dead franchise continues to survive. AMC released the trailer for the third season of The Walking Dead: Dead City. Watch the trailer below.
In the trailer, we see the once-villainous, now morally grey Negan being recruited to join one of the last bastions of civilization in New York. The stronghold led by Maggie attempts to sway Negan to contribute to what may be the only beacon of hope in a cruel world. Whether their complicated history will hinder their chances to create a brighter future lingers over the pair. In the trailer, we can see Negan using his staple barbed bat to smash in the heads of zombies.
The series is led by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Neighborhood Watch, Big City Greens) as Negan and Lauren Cohan (When I’m Ready, Twilight Of The Gods) as Maggie. Additional cast members include Jimmi Simpson (It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Dark Matter), Raúl Castillo (We The Animals, Smile 2), Aimee Garcia (Strip Law, Chasing Summer), Logan Kim (GhostBusters: Afterlife, Kung Fu Panda 4), and Michael Emery (Blue Bloods, Station 19).
The series is executive produced by Morgan, Cohan, Scott M. Gimble (Ghostrider: Sprit Of Vengeance, Fear The Walking Dead), chief content officer of the Walking Dead Universe, Showrunner Seth Hoffman (Prison Break, Ghostrider: Sprit Of Vengeance), Brian Bockrath (Prison Break, Ghostrider: Sprit of Vengeance), and Colin Walsh (The Fighter, The Way Way Back). Season three will premiere on Sunday, July 26th, at 9:00 PM EST.
According to mxdwn, The Walking Dead Franchise is central to AMC’s long-term strategy. Even though the mother series ended in 2022, the universe has continued to expand with multiple spin-off series. When the original concluded after season 11, there were six spin-offs counted. AMC continues to attempt to negotiate long-term rights with The Walking Dead franchise. Season three of The Walking Dead: Dead City remains a cornerstone of the partnership.
