AMC Network Debuts ‘Dispatches From Elsewhere’ Teaser Trailer

AMC has debuted a Dispatches From Elsewhere series teaser trailer with Jason Segel returning into the television spotlight. The show can be described as an anthology series. In the trailer below, it shows group of people that are left wondering the answer to a question in which not even the trailer tells the audience what it is and so everyone seems to be aware of but doesn’t seem to know exactly what it is. In hindsight, this group is set to “stumble onto a puzzle hiding just behind the veil of everyday life” where “their eyes are opened to a world of possibility and magic” according to an AMC description.

In the cast, whom we will be able to get to know over the span of 10 hour- long episodes will feature actors including Jason Segel (How I Met Your Mother), Sally Field (Steel Magnolias), André “3000” Benjamin (American Crime), Eve Lindley (Mr. Robot) and Richard E. Grant (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) as a mysterious character, Octavio. Who in the trailer narrates and is seemingly implied that Grant’s character knows information about this mystery. “My friend, you don’t belong here. Come with me. The choice is yours.”

Our starlit actor Jason Segel will not only act in the series but also serve as Executive Producer alongside producers Scott Rudin (Lady Bird), Eli Bush (Eighth Grade) and Garrett Basch (The Irishman). Segel has had previous producing experience with the 2014 film Sex Tape and The Five-Year Engagement (2012). Dispatches From Elsewhere is Segel’s first launch back into the television domain since his experience in the CBS comedic series How I Met Your Mother.

As to what or who is hidden behind the curtain of mystery has yet to be explained until the show premieres on the AMC Network during the spring of 2020. A long ways from their production days which began in Philadelphia back in 2018.
