A new face is joining the cast in the upcoming season of Two and a Half Men. Amber Tamblyn has been cast as Charlie Harper’s daughter, Jenny.
According to Huffington Post, Tamblyn will appear in at least five episodes as Jenny. Jenny has reportedly moved to L.A. to pursue acting and connect with what’s left of her family, and will apparently like everything that her late father liked. There is an option for Tamblyn to become a regular if the viewers like her.
Jenny is Charlie’s (Charlie Sheen) illegitimate daughter, a 21-year-old lesbian from New York. She will be introduced in the season premiere on September 26, after which she will stay with her Uncle Alan (Jon Cryer) and his roommate Walden (Ashton Kutcher).
Executive producer Chuck Lorre told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour that he liked the idea of a strong female character on the veteran CBS comedy. “I think it would be great to have that voice on the show from a different perspective. The show has had enough testosterone to last a lifetime … Part of the fun in this has been creating a character that is equal to the task of stepping on the stage with Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher. That’s a big job.”
Two and a Half Men Season 11 premieres Thursday, September 26 at 9:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
