Many sites are creating their own original series: Netflix, Hulu, and now, Amazon. Indiewire reports that Amazon posted eight pilots for new comedies back in April along with six original children shows. Consumers were then able to choose which shows they wanted to be produced.
Amazon selected two comedies and three children shows. The comedies include Alpha House and Betas. The selected kids’ shows are Annebots, Creative Galaxy and Tumbleaf.
One of the new comedies, Alpha House, stars John Goodman. Amazon reveals that he is one of four senators (played by Clark Johnson, Matt Malloy and Mark Consuelos) who live in a house together in D.C. The pilot was directed by Adam Bernstein and written by Garry Trudeau.
Betas, according to Indiewire, follows four friends who are trying to make it big by creating a new mobile social networking app. This comedy stars Ed Begley Jr., Jon Daly, Joe Dinicol, Charlie Saxton and Karan Soni. As a bonus, the series is directed and produced by “Heathers” director, Michael Lehmann.
Amazon has ordered a season for each of these new comedies. Indiewire reports that the shows will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime later this year and early next year.
