Amazon Freevee Reveals Trailer For The Reboot Of ‘Neighbours’

According to Deadline, the reboot of the series Neighbours will premiere on Amazon Freevee on September 18th. New episodes will air Monday to Thursday each week. This new series is titled Neighbours: A New Chapter and is a continuation of the original Neighbours soap opera. The original series first aired in 1985 and consists of thirty-eight seasons.

The new series will pick up two years after the original series finale. In line with the original soap opera, the premise of Neighbours: A New Chapter focuses on the residents of Ramsay Street, which is located in Melbourne, Australia.

Deadline notes that Jason Herbison (Riptide, Heat), who was the producer of Neighbours since 2013, continues to serve as executive producer of the Neighbours reboot. Andrew Thompson (Secrets & Lies, Young Lions) serves as a producer as well.

Stars of the new series include Alan Fletcher (Embassy, Sword of Honour), Annie Jones (The Henderson Kids, Sons and Daughters), Candice Leask (Little Diva Rising, Bullied), Georgie Stone (The Dreamlife of Georgie Stone, Erinsborough High), Jackie Woodburne (A Country Practice, Cop Shop), Lucinda Cowden (Body Melt, Just Between Us), Naomi Rukavina (Run Rabbit Run, Emo the Musical), Rebekah Elmaloglou (Home and Away, Lorca and the Outlaws), Lucinda Armstrong Hall (Porcupine Lake, Now Add Honey), and more.

As Deadline notes, the series will also include guest appearances, such as Mischa Barton (The Sixth Sense, Notting Hill) and Guy Pearce (The Time Machine, Memento), who were a part of the original series.

According to Variety, other guest appearances will include April Rose Pengilly (Lovelost, Brock), Ian Smith (Underbelly, Prisoner), Jodi Gordon (Hiding, Camp), and Melissa Bell (Paradise Beach, The Possessed).
