Amandla Stenberg, Star Of Disney+’s ‘The Acolyte’, Teases Setting For The Series

According to Comicbook, Amandla Stenberg (The Hunger Games, Bodies Bodies Bodies), star of Disney+’s new series Star Wars: The Acolyte, teases the setting for the series. During an interview with C Magazine, Stenberg spoke about the series and its setting, which is set during the High Republic Era of the franchise. Stenberg teases that this new Star Wars story will lead to many different but reverential situations.

Stenberg said, “In the context of the Star Wars universe, it’s a time of great peace, theoretically. It’s also a time of an institution, and it’s a time in which conceptions around the Force are very strict. And I think what we’re trying to explore within our show is when an institution has a singular conception of how power can be used…we try to provide a lot of different perspectives and answers to that question. The idea is to kind of honor the ethos of Star Wars and ideas around the Force and also challenge them, hopefully harmoniously.”

According to Comicbook, created by Leslye Headland (Russian Doll, Sleeping with Other People), the series will follow former Padawan as they reunite with their Jedi Master to investigate a vast amount of crimes that have been happening during the dark and final days of the High Republic Era. Through their journey, they are confronted by forces much more evil than they were prepared for. These evil entities are surging with more sinister powers that may be too powerful for the Padawan and their Jedi Master. The series is set to also have a much darker theme than the previous series Star Wars: Andor.

Star Wars: The Acolyte is scheduled to premiere at some point this summer exclusively on Disney+. Many Star Wars series and films are available on the streamer for fans to enjoy and catch up on.
