Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham Talk Rumors of Another ‘Gilmore Girls’ Revival

Are the two Gilmores following the lead back to Netflix? According to Deadline, the two stars, Alexis Bledel (Rory) and Lauren Graham (Lorelai) have yet to be approached for more episodes of Gilmore Girls, that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t rule out another revival.

Graham, of course, has always been vocal about her love for her on-screen persona, and didn’t hold back at a panel for Emmy contenders Sunday night.

“Now it has become a dialogue with the fans of the show; if it all existed in a vacuum I would play that character until my dying day. I love her writing; from the moment I read the pilot, I felt so connected to Amy Sherman-Palladino’s voice as a writer. It was so invigorating and fulfilling to do that work. In terms of an actor, I would never tire of that,” Graham said.

Bledel also chimed in about the potential for more Gilmore Girls, saying “I think for me it comes down to what story we’re telling. I’m just interested in telling a story that is dynamic and that I sort of relate to and can hook into. And if that happens … I don’t know. It’s such an unknown, I don’t think we anticipated that this would happen.”

The two also touched on what would happen if there was more Gilmore Girls down the pipe, especially in terms of Rory who (spoiler alert) told Lorelai that she was pregnant as the final four words of the show.

“Most talkative birth scene ever,” Bledel joked. She also said that she knows who the father of the baby is and Graham joked that the father is the Wookiee cos-player that Rory had a one night stand with.

Speaking of the final four words, Bledel said she was surprised by them and was surprised by Rory’s storyline in the revival.

“I told Amy that I hoped Rory would end on a high note. After all her hard work, I wanted to see her succeed and be thriving. So it was a hard thing for me to digest,” Bledel said.

Meanwhile, Graham once again said that the final four words didn’t sound like an ending, instead saying they sounded more like a cliffhanger.

However, doing another revival of the revival may be years down the road. Just this morning, Amazon ordered two seasons of Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which is created by Sherman-Palladino. Graham is currently starring in a comedy pilot, Linda From HR, and Bledel will be appearing on the upcoming Hulu series The Handmaid’s Tale, which will start streaming on Apr. 26.
