A head writer has also been selected, with Deadline saying that it is Jo Firestone, a former writer from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Ziwe. However, no host has been selected at this moment. Though, rumors are circling that it could end up being Taylor Tomlinson (Look At You), X Mayo (The Daily Show), or Rickey Velez (The Listener). The original host from @Midnight, Chris Hardwick, will not be involved in the reboot.
@Midnight was a an internet themed game show that was hosted during late night hours. It disected well-known dark memes, gifs, and videos that circulate the internet during this time.
With the reboot, fans are anxious to see if the new show After Midnight will live up to its predecessor. Culburt claims that “My hope is that, every night, After Midnight will be just as ridiculous as the internet is every day,” says Deadline.
