Actors Kim Raver, Camilla Luddington, and Kevin McKidd to Continue On ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

Kim Raver (24, Night at the Museum), Camilla Luddington (Tomb Raider, Justice League Dark),  and Kevin McKidd (Dog Soldiers, Trainspotting) have all signed on to continue with Grey’s Anatomy into Season 17 and beyond, per Deadline. The contracts were previously set to end with the finale of Season 16.

The contracts have been renewed for three years for these actors, indicating that the showrunners of Grey’s Anatomy expect to continue into 18th and 19th seasons. The show was recently picked up for seasons 16 and 17, yet there is no official word from ABC currently about whether or not the it will continue beyond season 17. ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke said that she was in contact with producers concerning moving Grey’s Anatomy beyond the 17th season. She said, “I’m hopeful that Grey’s Anatomy stays a part of our schedule. They certainly know that we’d like it to be part ofour schedule for as long as they are interested in making more episodes” (Deadline).

Raver was a series regular on the show from Season 6 to Season 8. She then reprised her role as cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Teddy Altman as a guest star during Season 14, and then became a series regular again starting Season 15. Luddington had a recurring role as general surgeon Jo Karev in Season 9 and was made a series regular from Season 10 onward. McKidd has been on the show for the longest time of the three actors, playing U.S. Army Veteran and trauma surgeon Owen Hunt since Season 5.

Richard Flood (Crossing Lines, Amaurosis), who plays head pediatric surgeon Cormac Hayes, and Anthony Hill (Watchmen, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), who plays cardiothoracic surgeon Winston Ngudu, have both been made series regulars for the upcoming season.
