Actor Pedro Pascal Makes Surprise Appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’ Joining Host Bad Bunny

This past Saturday, musician Bad Bunny (MONACO), hosted and performed his music on the sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live. The Puerto Rican musician was quick to address those who had doubts over his ability to host the show due to English not being his first language. To poke fun at the haters’ comments, SNL host alum Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) joined Bad Bunny on stage to translate. According to Deadline, Bad Bunny stated in his monologue, “People are wondering I can’t host this show because English is not my first language… I don’t know if they know but I do whatever I want. I can host this show in English. I can order McDonald’s in English. I can have sex in English. But I prefer sex in Spanish because it’s just better.”

When Pascal joined Bad Bunny during the show’s opening, he jumped right into coaching the singer on ways to perform a successful monologue. Pascal hinted the musician can joke about a body part or facial feature that’s unflattering, to which Bad Bunny said he doesn’t have any. Via Deadline, Pascal then suggested Bad Bunny speak Spanish and he could translate for the audience. After Bad Bunny said his piece in Spanish, Pascal communicated to the audience, wrongfully translating to make it seem as if the singer told viewers, “I’m blessed to be here with my favorite actor, Pedro Pascal.” Pascal then joined Bad Bunny in the skit titled Protective Mom 2. The original Protective Mom skit featured Pascal back in February when he hosted the show. The skit is about an overprotective Latina mother who is meeting her son’s girlfriend for the first time; Pascal plays the mother in full makeup and costume. Protective Mom 2 has the same concept but this time features Bad Bunny as an aunt meeting her nephew’s new girlfriend.

The next episode of Saturday Night Live on October 28 stars comedian Nate Bargatze as host, and the Foo Fighters (Everlong) as the musical guest.
