Actor Michael Sheen Gives Praise To The Set Designs In Season Two Of Prime Video’s ‘Good Omens’

The first season of Good Omens debuted on Prime Video in 2019. Now, over four years later, the second season of Good Omens premiered on July 28th. Alongside new storyline, the second season introduces various new characters and new set designs. In an interview with Comicbook.com, lead actor Michael Sheen (Bright Young Things, Laws of Attraction), who plays Aziraphale in the series, spoke about all of the creativity and detail that went into the new production designs.

According to Comicbook.com, Sheen stated, “Well, I’m always blown away by the detailed design work that goes on in these shows, and particularly in this season because they’ve essentially built the Soho community and all those shops that are in this, particularly the record shop and the magic shop, the detail of work that’s in there. I just used to spend hours in those shops in between takes, just looking … Particularly, the record shop, because none of the records could be actual records.”

Sheen continued, “So, they had to make up bands and singers and album names and come up with concept art and covers. And I was just amazed by it. And it was hilarious seeing the names of these bands that they come up with. And again, the magic shop, it was like the most magical of magic shops you could ever have gone into as a child. Aziraphale’s bookshop is the bookiest of bookshops you could ever go into. And the magic shop is the same for magic. So, I would say it’s the people who came up with all that incredible detail.”

Directed by Douglas Mackinnon (Bodies, Gentlemen’s Relish), Good Omens season two revolves around the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley, played by David Tennant (Doctor Who, Broadchurch). Their lives on Earth become much more complicated when an unwanted visitor, played by Jon Hamm (Mad Men, Top Gun: Maverick), enters Aziraphale’s bookshop.

Audiences can see the set designs that Sheen praises first-hand in season two of Good Omens on Prime Video.
