Mystery Girls will bring back Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth to ABC Family.

Mystery Girls and Young & Hungry are going from project to series, ABC Family has announced Monday, January 6. The network is adding this two comedy series to its scripted slate. Production on both shows begins in early 2014 in Los Angeles and with scheduled premieres later this year.
Mystery Girls will bring back Beverly Hills, 90210 alums Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth, who will star and produce the show. The series centers on two former detective TV show starlets brought back together by a real-life mystery. Spelling and Garth star, along with newcomer Miguel Pinzon.
Young & Hungry, executive produced by former teen idol Ashley Tisdale, stars Hannah Montana’s Emily Osment as a food blogger with aspirations of becoming a chef. The comedy also stars Jonathan Sadowski, Rex Lee, Aimee Carrero and Kym Whitley, with Annie Potts recurring.
“It’s great to start the new year and my tenure at ABC Family with the pickup of these two funny original series,” said ABC Family President Tom Ascheim. “ABC Family’s comedy lineup continues to resonate with our audience and I’m thrilled to boost that momentum by adding Mystery Girls and Young & Hungry, which are sure to become fan favorites.”
Both comedies join a comedy lineup that already includes Melissa & Joey and Baby Daddy.
ABC Family’s Work Mom comedy pilot from Bunheads’ Grant Levy and Dominik Rothbard and starring Renee Olstead is still in the mix.
