What exactly is The Path in Hulu’s new Original Series? Well, the first trailer for the upcoming drama series teases what type of journey the characters will be taking in The Path. According to Collider, the show is about everyday individuals who become involved in a cult-like group who are officially known as the Meyerist Movement. This mysterious group goes to great lengths to protect their valued secrets from the public. The Path focuses on faith, significance, and the impact a person’s beliefs can have on their various relationships.
The first season for the Hulu Original Series will feature ten episodes. Jason Katims will serve as executive producer for The Path. Katims’ professional work includes Friday Night Lights and Parenthood. The creator of the series is Jessica Goldberg who will write for the series and also assist as an executive producer. Aaron Paul from the highly successful and award winning series Breaking Bad will play Eddie, a troubled husband in the series. Then there’s Eddie’s devoted wife Sarah who will be portrayed by Michelle Monaghan. And Cal, the passionate leader of the cult-like group will be played by Hugh Dancy.
In addition to following a family at the forefront of a controversial cult movement, each episode of The Path will give viewers an in-depth look into the alluring pull of belief and what it means to choose between the life we live on a daily basis vs the life we truly want.

The two minute preview shows Paul’s character Eddie becoming paranoid following a retreat he went on with his “fellow” cult-group. We also got to see brief instances of Dancy’s power-hungry character Cal who was heard declaring “I can walk out on the street and make people believe.”
