41st Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations Announced

The Daytime Emmy Awards have announced the nominations for the 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards set for June 22.

 

This year’s awards show will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel with the Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards Gala taking place on June 20 at the Westin Bonaventure in Downtown LA. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominations today that will recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production. The awards are presented to individuals and programs broadcast from 2:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. for the 2013 calendar year.

“With over 1,400 entries this year, the National Academy is again excited to welcome more than 350 nominees to this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards,” said, Malachy Wienges, Chairman for The National Academy of Television Arts & Science. “We are happy to return to both the Beverly Hilton and the Westin Bonaventure for what I’m sure will be two very exciting nights for the Daytime television community!”

CBS leads the way with 60 Daytime Emmy Nominations with The Young and The Restless receiving 26 of those nominations. CBS’ The Bold and The Beautiful received 18 nominations. Second in nominations from networks went to syndicated shows with 51 nominations and in third place is PBS receiving 44 nominations. Others nominations include The Ellen DeGeneres Show, One Life To Live, Sesame Street, General Hospital and more.

“These exciting nominations officially launch the 41st Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards,” said David Michaels, Senior Executive Director, Daytime added. “This will be a true celebration of Daytime Television focusing on those behind the scenes that make so much of the great quality and innovation we see every day and those on-screen that invite us into the worlds of daytime drama, talk, legal courtroom, culinary, game shows, animation and children’s programming we enjoy throughout the year. Congratulations to all the nominees!”

The Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards will also give special honors for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation. The winners include Ernie Gilbert for T.U.F.F. Puppy (Nickelodeon); Eddie Gribbin, Marten Johnmark, and Stephen Robinson for Peter Rabbit (Nickelodeon); Jose Lopez and Yasuhiro Motoda for Transformers Prime Beast Hunters (HUB Network); Jennifer Oxley for Peg + Cat (PBS); and Christopher Voy for Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Cartoon Network).
