‘Ted Lasso’ Season Three To Premiere In The Spring

According to Deadline, the hit comedy show Ted Lasso is set to premiere in the spring. In the meantime, Apple TV+ has released a first-look photo from the anticipated third season.

The photo, available here, features two-time Emmy nominee Nick Mohammed (The Martian, Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie) as Nathan Shelley, Anthony Head (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Imagine Me & You) as Rupert Mannion, and titular character Ted Lasso, portrayed by four-time Emmy winner Jason Sudeikis (Colossal, We’re the Millers).

Ted Lasso has achieved eleven Emmy awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for both 2021 and 2022. The drama has also been rated No. 80 on the IMBD’s Top 250 TV Shows chart.

Per the network, Ted Lasso follows the protagonist, an optimistic football coach who finds himself in charge of a British soccer team. Although no official plot for the third installment has been announced, the end of season two – via Variety – follows Nathan, who, after feeling scorned by Ted, decides to leave AFC Richmond to coach a rival team owned by the Richmond owner’s ex-husband, played by Head.

During a panel for the upcoming Apple TV+ comedy Shrinking, creator Bill Lawrence (Cougar Town, Scrubs) and actor Brett Goldstein (Thor: Love and Thunder, SuperBob) mentioned that season three is “f*cking awesome,” as reported by Deadline. Lawrence also commended Sudeikis for taking charge during the production of the season while he was preoccupied in the U.S. with Shrinking.

Lawrence serves as showrunner alongside Joe Kelly (How I Met Your Mother, Saturday Night Live) and Brendan Hunt (Bless This Mess, Horrible Bosses 2). Hunt also stars as Coach Beard in the show and has appeared in thirty two episodes.

Ted Lasso will air sometime in spring 2023. Seasons one and two are currently streaming on Apple TV+. The pilot episode is available to watch for free.
