Rita Moreno will co-star alongside Natasha Lyonne in NBC’s comedy pilot Old Soul.
According to Deadline, the comedy is co-created and executive produced by Amy Poehler, Josh Bycel and Jonathan Fener. David Wain will serves as director. Old Soul focuses on former wild child Nadia (Lyonne) with a business caring for the elderly and has more common interests with her clients than people her own age.
Moreno will portray a client, a character tailored specifically for Moreno including the name Rita. Rita is a sexy, ball of joy, flamboyant, larger than life Broadway veteran happily married to writing partner and husband of more than 50 years.
Moreno recently received the lifetime achievement award at the SAG Awards. She is one of few performers to win an Oscar, an Emmy, a Tony and a Grammy. She received two Emmy’s for guest appearance on The Rockford Files and Muppet Show. She most recently co-starred on TV Lands Happily Divorced.
