

Fans of The Walking Dead universe have reason to celebrate as AMC Networks officially announced the highly anticipated return of The Walking Dead: Dead City. According to a press release from AMC Networks, the second season of AMC’s The Walking Dead: Dead City will debut on AMC and AMC+ on May 4 at 9pm ET. AMC also released the first two and a half minutes of the premiere episode of the second season.
Season two of The Walking Dead: Dead City stars Jeffery Dean Morgan (The Walking Dead, Supernatural) as Negan and Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead, The Vampire Diaries) as Maggie. The new season will follow the two characters as they navigate a post-apocalyptic Manhattan. According to the press release, a war wages in the city for control, and Negan and Maggie fight for different sides, but as their paths cross, they discover that finding a way out is more challenging and dangerous than expected.
The first scene from season two was released on The Walking Dead Youtube platform Feb.25, and already has nearly 32,000 views. The clip features shots of a decayed New York City and follows a group wearing hazmat uniforms as they pick up and deposit a mummified body.
Other members of the season two cast include Gaius Charles (Friday Night Lights,Taken), Željko Ivanek (Madame Secretary, Damages), Mahina Anne Marie Napoleon (NCIS:Hawai’i, Show Me More), Lisa Emery (Ozark,Catch the Fair One), Logan Kim (Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Ghostbuster: Frozen Empire), Dascha Polanco (Orange is the New Black, The Perfect Match) and Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy, American Primeval). Eli Jorné (The Walking Dead, Wilfred) serves as the series’s showrunner and executive producer. Scott M. Gimple (The Walking Dead: World Beyond, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, The Book of Carol) will serve as executive producer alongside Jorné. According to AMC, Gimple is the chief content officer of the Walking Dead Universe. Cohan, Morgan, Brian Bockrath (The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead), Michael Satrazemis( The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead) and Colin Walsh (The Fighter, Moonrise Kingdom) are also on the production team.
