‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Season 1 Episode 6 “From The Desert Comes A Stranger”

Disney Plus’s original series ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ season one episode six entitled “From The Desert Comes A Stranger” starts with Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin as he goes to visit his adoptive son David Acord’s Grogu while he trains with Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker to become a Jedi. From what the viewer sees Luke is struggling with Grogu’s training due to his attachment with Din. In Luke’s mind he knows that Grogu has spent a lot of time with Din causing him to develop a strong bond with him. Unfortunately, he also knows that having attachments is a path that can lead to the dark side as a Jedi. The interesting part about this how Luke restores Grogu’s memories of his past which shows how he was there during the genocide of the Jedi. This can be assumed by the viewer to be the reason why he did not use much of his force abilities as he had a mental block.

Additionally, the viewer also sees Din reunite with Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano as they discuss the bond that he shares with Grogu. In his mind, he cares deeply about Grogu and cannot focus on anything other than seeing him or keeping him safe. However, he knows that Grogu must be with people who know how to properly train him as a Jedi. The viewer can see that he currently is fighting with two halves of himself. There is the father who wants to take his adoptive son with him and leave to be with the Mandalorians as they are a clan of two. The other half is the Mandalorian that knows he has completed his quest by returning Grogu to his own kind. As a result of this he must now leave him and continue his path without him as the code he follows dictates. Although, it would seem he is starting to be more lenient on the code as he wants to see Grogu.

At the end of episode, Grogu ends up having to choose between being a Mandalorian or a Jedi as a result of Luke refusing to train him with his attachment. Meanwhile, the viewer sees Timothy Olyphant’s Cobb Vanth as he faces off against a fan favorite Star Wars character Corey Burton’s Cad Bane. The interesting part about this is how their fight resembles an old western gun fight with Cobb being the town sheriff and Cad Bane being the outlaw. Sadly, Cobb loses the fight and is presumably shot dead as a result of Cad being faster. It would seem as if Cad Bane will play a role in the ending of the series as he reveals that he is hired by the spice traders to keep things under control.
