The final episode starts with everyone talking to each other about Sam’s sudden change of heart about mother. Suddenly, Wally calls Renee, and says he has Mother, so Renee tells him to meet them at the community center.
Back at the Boroughs, Wally brings mother through the 75th anniversary party, and to the community center, while Blaine gives his speech. After Blaine’s little speech, everyone back at the community center is again talking about what to do with Mother. Mother starts speaking telepathically with Sam, who tells him that she wants to die. She then says they have to go back to the cave Art found, which is where she was born, and that her children have been preparing for this moment. Wally is opposed to this because of her miracle blood, but he is eventually convinced to help.
Judy and Art distract Blaine while everybody else goes through the tunnels. Mother pleads for her children to be saved from captivity, so Paz and Renee head down to free them. While Wally, Claire, Sam, and Mother head to the cave, the bars are brought down on the opening. Though Sam admits they might be being herded into a trap, they take the other route, since they have no other choice.
While Renee and Paz try to free the kids, a wounded Hank who, after some convincing, gives them the key to free all the children. After getting to the house, Wally distracts Blaine and his crew, while Sam and Claire activate their trap to kill Blaine and Annaliese. After Mother saves Judy (who was stabbed by Anneliese before), Sam brings Mother to the cave alone.
While Mother is about to die, Blaine suddenly appears and starts beating Sam. Mother then starts glowing which calls her children to her and causes her to explode, finally killing Blaine. After a reunion with Lily, Sam wakes up and is brought back home with Renee and Paz. We then see Sam having a little celebration with his family and all his friends back at his home in The Boroughs. While in the bathroom, Sam’s reflection suddenly starts glitching, though he of course doesn’t notice it.
Another great episode, this was overall a really good show. It was intriguing, engaging, and made you want to figure out the mystery behind The Boroughs. It would honestly be worth checking out the next season, whenever the next season might be.
