Review: ‘The Boroughs’ Season 1, Episode 3 “A Pyramid”

Episode 3 begins with Judy sitting outside at night, when the strange noises and lights begin at Sam’s house. She goes and looks in the window, seeing Sam and Wally putting the stuff into a bag. We then see a package being dropped off at Wally’s house, with Judy spying on him and taking notes.

Wally heads to Sam’s house, where they are working on an HPLC machine to figure out what the creature is. After more of Judy’s detective work, Waly tells Sam that the results from the HPLC show that the creature is unlike anything ever seen before, which frustrates Sam, since he essentially spent $7,000 to learn nothing. Wally mentions that this proves it wasn’t imagination or an animal, and that they need to get more of the goo to figure out exactly what it is. Wally remembers Sam saying the creature was doing something in Jack’s mouth, so he gets the idea to perform an autopsy on Jack before he is cremated. Sam is opposed to this at first but is eventually convinced to help.

Sam picks up Wally in his golf cart at night, while Renee gets a notification of movement on the security camera. Sam and Wally break into the funeral home, and look for Jack’s body. Suddenly Judy comes out of nowhere and sprays them with expired pepper spray. She then confronts them about Jack and what they know, and they tell her Jack was murdered by something, so the three then go to retrieve Jack’s body. Wally then begins the autopsy while Sam and Judy head out of the room so they don’t have to witness it.

At Renees’ house, she and Paz look at the camera, and realize that the camera couldn’t see whatever knocked a bin over. After Sam and Judy talk about Jack, Wally interrupts and tells them to come and see what he found. He shows Sam and Judy the marks at the back of Jack’s throat, which are puncture wounds leading to the base of Jack’s brain. Wally then checks out Judy and Sam to see if the monster is feeding off them as well, which reveals they both have the marks in their throats.

Suddenly Hank arrives and takes Sam away while Judy and Wally hide. The creature then starts to feed on Renee a little, and Art (while away in the desert) finds a tree that has fruit with healing properties.

This episode again was pretty good, like the last two. It wasn’t incredibly bizarre, but it is starting to get a bit stranger. Overall, still a good watch. Honestly though, thought the blood might have been able to heal if reverse engineered, but now it seems like the fruit is the healer. Maybe we’ll see what happens with this later on.

I have taken part in the university television station where I was able to act in a show and work behind the scenes. I also have hosted a radio show and have been able to learn the mechanical workings on how the radio shows operate. I have always been interested in different video games growing up and have recently become more interested in movies, film, radio, and screenplay. I have created many characters and have many ideas for different movies, video games, and shows. Besides creating the characters and stories, I believe I would also like to take part in them as well.
