It’s the day of Sue’s memorial; everyone is preparing. Sam and Charlie remain strained while Percy helps Delilah, who is still living at the motel. A flashback shows  Percy telling Sue that she wants to quit her waitress job. Sue convinces her to stay, and even lets her decorate The Tavern.

Back in the present, Percy is getting ready for the memorial. She has multiple memories of Sue making meals for people. She finds this pink tutu skirt and tiara, and starts making waffles. When Sam catches her wearing this odd getup, she explains how Sue loved making breakfast foods while wearing the outfit. Percy says that she’s going to make breakfast foods for the memorial. Sam agrees that that’s what Sue would have wanted. After Sam leaves, Percy has memories of her and Sue decorating The Tavern. She finishes decorating The Tavern for the memorial.

Sadie Soverall, Elisha Cuthbert

At the memorial, Percy speaks about Sue, followed by Sam, but he doesn’t get a sentence out. Charlie guides him off the stage, and begins his speech. He does a very good job, and everyone in attendance claps for the two brothers. Everyone goes to The Tavern for the repast. Sam still wants to go no-contact with Charlie, even though they are literally all that they have left. They are both orphans. 

After the service, Percy goes to Sam and apologizes again for everything that she did to him. In a  flashback, Sam apologizes to her about everything that he did, but she just gets up and leaves. That was the last time that they saw each other for ten years. In the present, they kiss, and then have a night together in Sam’s car. When they awake, Sam says that he can’t do this anymore, and that they should take some time apart. Percy agrees.

Then, there is a montage of a time jump. Percy and Chantal go back to Seattle and live their lives. Delilah is with them too. Charlie and Sam are living their lives apart from one another. Charlie got a job in finance, and Sam is doing his doctoral things. Then, Percy gets a letter in the mail. It’s the keys to The Tavern. She calls up Delilah and they get to work. 

Jordie, Chantal, Percy, and Delilah completely renovate The Tavern and have a grand reopening. Jordie and Chantal are dating at this point, making Delilah a little jealous when they kiss. While Percy is  doing dishes, she feels someone appear behind her. It’s Sam. She turns around, and they embrace each other with a smile.

We then see Charlie visit his boss in his office. His boss has a picture of himself, Sam, and Percy on the wall. Charlie is shocked. His boss tells him that his wife picked that up at a giftshop. Then, at the end of the work day, Charlie returns to the boss’s office to look at the picture. Suddenly, he starts feeling a pain in his chest. He collapses to the ground while clenching his chest. Cut to black.

This episode was a great way to tie up the first season of this story. Percy and Sam are obviously going through something life changing, and are handling it in their own separate ways. There was such a buildup to Sue’s memorial, and it was done so beautifully and clearly the way that she wanted it. It was nice to see Chantal splitting up with Drew, and going for Jordie, who is a man that really cares for and sees her. Delilah had great character development, and the split from her husband really taught her that the people in her life treat her well. The cliffhanger with Charlie was a perfect way to end the season as Sam and Charlie’s dad passed from a heart condition. Will Sam and Charlie rekindle their relationship as brothers? Will this make Sam forgive Charlie?
