The episode begins with Charlie marching to the motel where he finds Percy. He immediately tells her off as they had made a promise to one another to not share their big secret with anyone, let alone Sam. After yelling at Percy, he just marches away.
It’s now Summer 2016, the last summer before Percy and Sam go off to college. This summer is a bit different as Charlie got a boat, and the three of them cruise on the water. When they get to the dock, Sam lets Percy know that he got a summer internship that starts in two weeks, so their summer is going to be cut short. This devastates Percy, and she just walks away from the situation. After a while, she gets over it, and knows that she has to say her tearful goodbyes to Sam. They agree to do long distance until Thanksgiving break.
Percy ends up moping around and Charlie picks up on it. He tells her to stop waiting for Sam. Percy also notices that she’s the one making more of the effort to reach out, and not him. She agrees to help Charlie furnish the boat, as a little summer project. They continue to grow and grow over the summer. They play games, talk about their lives, and they overall just get really close.
In the present, Chantal lets Percy know that she is not the only one at fault. It’s just as much as Charlie’s fault. She encourages her to confront him about the situation. Chantal also has a conversation with Jordie about their almost kiss, and how it could have turned into something.
Charlie goes to Sam in hopes of getting The Tavern back and possibly rekindling their relationship. Sam isn’t having it at all, and leaves without giving Charlie a chance to explain himself. Sam ends up at The Tavern, where he finds Delilah preparing for his mom’s memorial. Delilah then explains how Percy was a good friend to her, and that he should rethink his decisions before making life-changing ones. Later, Sam finds Percy’s old movies at home and throws a fit. He throws them away and takes a bat to a wooden seat with the name Charlie engraved on it. He sits and cries.

Back in the flashback, Percy is helping Charlie finish up the boat. Then, Percy gets an email from Sam saying how the long distance situation isn’t working. She is devastated and tries to call him; a woman answers. This makes her even more devastated and she runs to Charlie. She explains how Sam broke up with her over email. Charlie comforts her, they end up slowly kissing, and one thing leads to another.
Percy takes Chantal’s advice and hunts Charlie down. She finds him in a boathouse and confronts him about their secret. He tries to get away and they find themselves in a small room. the door shuts behind them with no way out. They also don’t have service, so nobody knows where they are. As Percy talks to Charlie about their mistake ten years ago, she begins to have a panic attack. Charlie halts his grudge to be there for her. Once they’ve both cooled down, they talk about their differences and how they feel terrible about hurting Sam. When they embrace for a hug, Sam opens the door and sees them. Cut to black.
