According to Deadline, Zoe Saldaña (Guardians of the Galaxy, Avatar: Fire and Ash) says she could not imagine taking on another Taylor Sheridan (Tulsa King, Yellowstone), stating Lioness is all she could handle. Saldaña recently explained why starring as Joe McNamara “is all that I can handle at this time,” stating that she doesn’t plan to have any other roles in the Sheridan TV universe after three seasons on the Paramount+ series.
“I’m number one on the call sheet. I am first one in, last one out. I am prepping months before anybody ever is able to prep,” she told People via Deadline. “So it’s already a lot of work for me.”
Saldaña said via Deadline she “can’t imagine me taking on more of a Taylor Sheridan world,” adding, “The good takeaway that I’m grateful for is that he knows that I’m reliable, just like Joe is.”
“I have my views, and I come with all heart, all brains, all muscle at all times,” said Saldaña via Deadline. “So, no, I think I’m good here at Lioness.”
As per Deadline, Lioness follows a covert CIA program that recruits female operatives to go undercover and infiltrate dangerous terrorist organizations by getting close to the wives, daughters, or associates of high-profile targets. Starring and executive produced by Saldaña and Nicole Kidman (Eyes Wide Shut, Big Little Lies) the third season of the series sees hidden networks, foreign operatives and personal betrayals collide.
Deadline reports, Saldaña is joined by other cast members, including Laysla De Oliveira (Code 8, In the Tall Grass) as Cruz Manuelos, Dave Annable (The Waterfront, Walker) as Neal, Jill Wagner (Teen Wolf, Imperfect Women) as Bobby, LaMonica Garrett (1883, Man of War) as Tucker, James Jordan (Landman, Wind River) as Two Cups, Austin Herbert (Shot in the Dark, Burden) as Randy, Johan Wharton (NCIS, The Rookie) as Tex, Hannah Love Lanier (The Audition Frenzy, Road House) as Kate, Michael Kelly (Dawn of the Dead, Time of Death) as Byron Westfield and Thad Luckinbill (Only the Brave, Devotion) as Kyle.
