According to Comicbook, Zack Snyder’s (Zack Snyder’s Justice League) recent Netflix project Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas has been scrapped. The animated series that would have expanded more on the Army of the Dead universe will not finish production even though Snyder says much of on it is completed to the point that it could be watched. The series was supposed to air on Netflix following Army of the Dead and Army of Thieves.
Snyder said, “We did all the scripts and the animatics, and all the voices are recorded. So, you could watch it, even in its crazy animatic form — you can watch the whole run.”
Snyder said back in March that, “I will say that there’s been a slight stall on the Lost Vegas animated thing. For technical reasons, it went off the rail a little bit.”
According to Comicbook, the series was supposed to set the origin of the character Scott Ward and his rescue crew during the fall of Vegas during the source of the zombie outbreak. The mercenary group takes a gamble and ventures into the quarantine zone to try and pull off an impossible heist.
The series cast would have included Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) as Scott Ward, Ana De La Reguera (Narcos) as Cruz, Tig Notaro (One Mississippi) as Marianne Peters, Omari Hardwick (Kick-Ass) as Vanderohe, Ella Purnell (Arcane) as Kate Ward, Jena Malone (contact) as Zeta, Anya Chalotra (The Witcher) as Lucilia, Vanessa Hudgens (Fright Krewe) as Willow, Monica Barbaro (FUBAR) as Meagan, Christian Slater (Willow) as Torrance, Joe Manganiello (True Blood) as Rose, Nolan North (Rick and Morty) as Clemenson, Ross Butler (Shazam!) as Chen, Harry Lennix (Man of Steel) as Boorman, Yetide Badaki (Rise) as Queen Meeru, and Christina Wren (Will Trent) as Nicole.
